At school, I walked along the covered hallway and watched the dripping clouds. I hesitated for a moment on where to go next…Into the rain or up the stairs through the next covered hall?
Against my usual flavor, I walked intentionally into the rain. It fell lightly on my pants, my sleeves, and my hair. It tickled my face as it plopped on my cheeks.
I took in a deep breath as I walked, smelling the freshness of nature’s shower. Spending all day indoors is not my natural state; of this I am sure. However, it’s easy to hide indoors. Where it’s dry and warm. Where it’s predictable and comfortable. It’s easy to walk under the covered hallways. It takes purpose to step outside, to walk a different way, to walk in the rain.
