She’s a bully.
She tears me down on the daily.
You can’t do it, she’ll say.
Even when I prove her wrong
She’ll find another way.
She’s a bully.
Mean, like a middle school kid.
Her words sting my heart
Like daggers she’s throwing
Tearing my whole self apart.
She’s a bully.
She’s around all the time.
Chattering on and on and on
Finding my weakest links
And leaving me to feel wrong.
She’s a bully.
But I’m learning to speak up
Find my voice, Stand my ground
I am strong! I can do it!
I shout to drown her sound.
This is powerful and painful. Chilling words at end of 1st stanza – “She’ll find another way.” Love the strength shown in the last line of poem!

“Finding my weakest links” terrifies me, that bullies put that much time, effort, brain power thinking about how to hurt others. Victims must dig down deep to rise up and push through.

The progression is heart wrenching in its truth, but the hope and triumph in those last two lines is perfect, especially “I shout to drown her sound.”
